Q: HOW BIG ARE THE COTS?
A: The cots are a twin size bed with a 4” mattress (think, top bunk of a bunk bed!)
Q: WILL I BE SHARING A ROOM WITH PEOPLE I DON’T KNOW?
A: If you are booking as an individual, yes, you will be sharing a room with others. There are two bedrooms with multiple sleeping arrangements, and a loft style bedroom with the remaining beds. This is a great way to make new friends and develop connections!
Q: I’M A BEGINNER, WHAT ARE THE WORKOUTS GOING TO BE LIKE?
A: I suggest you follow @misselladove on Instagram to get an idea of her workout style. They will be a mixture of HIIT, strength, and cardio based workouts. There will also be some stretch classes, and all can be modified to each person’s ability.
Q: I’M A VEGETARIAN. WHAT MEAL OPTIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ME?
A: We will have food and meal options available for every dietary requirement. At checkout, you tell us your restrictions and we will accommodate you to the best of our ability!
Q: CAN AMERICANS COME?
A: At this time, we are only opening Camp to Canadian residents. This is to eliminate the spread of Covid-19 and ensure the safest retreat possible for all guests. Sorry! We hope to bring Americans to Camp Sweataway soon!
Q: WHERE WILL WE BE STAYING?
A: We are staying in a beautiful log cabin in a town called Rock Creek, British Columbia. It is in an area called Boundary Country which is in the interior of B.C. surrounded by the Monashee mountains. Here are the details:
Rock Creek, BC (interior)
Closest airport: Kelowna Intl Airport (YLW)
2 hrs drive from Kelowna Intl Airport
5.5 hrs drive from Vancouver (many direct flights from YVR to YLW daily
Multiple direct flights from both YYC and YEG daily
Two direct, and many indirect flights from YYZ daily
Q: WHAT IS THE LODGE LIKE?
A: The lodge is BEAUTIFUL! A hand built log cabin, 5000 square feet and on 640 acres of untouched land! There are two wood burning fireplaces, a library, pool table, outdoor fire pit (for S’mores obviously), with an open concept kitchen, living space and dining area inside. The lodge also has an outdoor deck that wraps around the entire building - we eat dinner on the porch each night to watch the sunset! It’s massive, the views are unbeatable, and there are plenty of muskoka style chairs outside that overlook the vast land and the mountains. It’s absolutely breathtaking.
Q: HOW FAR IS THE DRIVE FROM VANCOUVER?
A: The drive is totally doable from Vancouver. About 5 - 5.5 hours, and one of the most scenic drives in Canada if you take Highway 3 (Crowsnest pass) through the Okanagan! You can stop at wineries along the way, or take a dip in Lake Okanagan to cool off.
Q: CAN I BRING MY DOG?
A: Trust me, I asked this too … unfortunately because this space is a shared space, there are no dogs allowed to avoid allergies. Furry friends will have to stay home this time.
Q: WHAT ARE THE FOOD CHOICES LIKE?
A: The food is all going to be catered, healthy, and delicious! Here’s an example day:
Breakfast - Yogurt Bar (vegan options available) with fresh fruit, granola, honey, nut butters, nuts and seeds
Lunch - Protein Buddha Bowls loaded with fresh and pickled veggies, healthy carbs, and tons of protein, and a delicious sauce (plant based and GF options available as well)
Dinner - We will sit down as a group to enjoy a delicious warm dinner with different options each night - our favourite was the BBQ Pulled Jackfruit Burgers with a Coleslaw and Penne Pasta Salad
Q: Are we able to drive there ourselves?
A: Absolutely! You don’t need to take our transportation. It’s SUCH a beautiful drive from anywhere in B.C. Hey, maybe you can even link up with other people joining the retreat in our exclusive Facebook group as well and make it a road trip! Hello new friends!
